You’re ready to start looking for a new job, but you’re not sure where to start. There are 2 steps here:
- Defining
- Walking backwards
Looking for an ideal job takes time, like a good soup, you can’t rush it. If you are rushing then you started late, you need to relax and be patient. Start your search early or find something to help you relax and be patient if you started late
Defining
To find something, you have to know what you’re looking for, you have to have the clearest picture of it in your head and mind’s eye to be able to recognise it when you see it.
Here you’ll be doing your first task:
Task: Define exactly what kind of job you’d like to be doing
Be specific to the last point. What would you like to be doing on a day to day basis at this job? Where would you like to be doing this? How much would you like to be paid? Give as much detail here.
Once you are done, quote the Task
text and post your Ideal Job Description.
Note that, the bigger your dream, the more you have to do to get there and the longer the journey.
After defining your ideal job, next you walk backwards from your goal to where you are now, detailing the gaps between your ideal job and where you are now.
